Workshop 1: 17.02.24, 3:00 - 6:00 PM:

Technique for followers with Karin & Maude

Following is not a passive role. It requires body control, attention and a reactive posture to enable presence and connection. In this workshop we will work on the foundation to achieve this.

Firstly we will work on the foundation for a healthy posture and foot position and look at placement for a stable axis. Then we will work on basic concepts such as walking in tango (forwards and backwards), dissociation and turns (ochos, giros).

A break of about 20 minutes with coffee and cake is planned.

Suitable for all levels.

Workshop 2: 18.02.24, 12:00 - 1:15 PM:

Ballet for Tango with Maude

Classical dance is a great foundation for all dances and is learnt by many professionals of other dance styles in order to acquire more control and a clean technique.

The aim of the workshop is to combine the precision of ballet with the technique of tango: The focus is on footwork, technique, grace and the clean execution of the movements. We will start with a small ballet unit and then integrate this into tango exercises. Finally, we will rehearse a small sequence with dance elements.

The workshop is suitable for both tango and ballet beginners and for all levels.

Please bring ballet slippers/socks and tango shoes/exercise shoes.

Adornos Marathon with Karin & Maude

Adornos embellish the dance and are fun. The trick, however, is to integrate them into the movements without disturbing the flow of the dance and the partner. In this workshop we will look at all kinds of adornos: musical, playful, smooth, and much more… We will learn how to use them stylishly and meaningfully in the dance.
